RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting October 29-30 in Richmond. The meeting also includes a presentation on a recent public policy poll from Virginia Commonwealth University’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs and remarks from The Honorable M. Kirkland Cox, speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates.

The Council’s Academic Affairs, and Resources and Planning committees will meet Monday, October 29 beginning at 2:45 pm at the SCHEV offices (101 N. 14th Street, 9th floor). Topics include actions on the proposed policies and guidelines for institutional financial aid award letters, system-wide operating budget amendments and a report on the 2017-18 degree completions. Council also will take action on one proposed program: an associate of science degree in health science at Thomas Nelson Community College. In addition, the meeting will include reports on the proposed merger between Jefferson College of Health Sciences and Radford University, the academic program approval policy and the SCHEV assessment policy.
 
The Council will convene its regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, at the SCHEV offices The Honorable M. Kirkland Cox and Ángel Cabrera, president of George Mason University, will present remarks.
