Advisory: Council to meet March 20-21 at VMI

RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia will hold its regularly scheduled meeting March 20-21 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington. 

The full Council will meet March 21 beginning at 9 a.m. General J.H. Binford Peay, superintendent of VMI, will present remarks. Among other topics Council members will hear an update on the 2017 General Assembly session and discuss updates to The Virginia Plan for Higher Education. 

Council committees will meet prior to the full Council meeting to discuss topics including a status report on the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools. An abbreviated schedule is below. A complete agenda can be found at

March 20
Ad Hoc Committee on Research: Noon-1:55 p.m.
Academic Affairs Committee: 2-3:25 p.m.
Resources & Planning Committee: 2-3:25 p.m.

March 21
Executive Committee: 8-9 a.m.
Full Council: 9 am.-12:30 p.m.
