Where are we now?

VA Ranking among states for educationVirginia’s vision and overarching plan measure it to rank number one in credentials of value earners. Credentials of value are those that lead to meaningful career, social and economic benefits and earning more than the median annual earnings of a high school graduate. Virginia is working toward creating its own index to measure where we rank for credentials of value in comparison to other states. In the meantime, we are using data from the Lumina Foundation that ranks Virginia as number four in the nation. Our definition of “credentials of value” is also informed by Lumina’s definition as we work to create our own in alignment with the index.
