collegescreencap"We're learning more about how Virginia organizations are fighting a lawsuit the Department of Justice filed against Virginia.

The federal lawsuit challenged laws that allow undocumented immigrants to qualify for in-state tuition to attend public colleges.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Virginia filed an emergency motion against the DOJ. The ACLU says it wants to protect immigrant students' rights granted by state law.

ACLU Virginia and the Legal Aid Justice Center filed an emergency motion to intervene in the federal lawsuit.
