ADVISORY: Council to meet virtually January 7

RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting virtually on January 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Topics include action on a proposed program at a public institution and on proposed education licensure degree programs in shortage areas. Council will discuss the Governor’s introduced budget, 2025 General Assembly Session and Six-Year Plans. Council will receive updates on 2024 degrees and certificates awarded, the Pell initiative, progress on the goals of the statewide strategic plan and introduction of the new strategic planning process.

Debbie Sydow, Richard Bland College president, will present remarks. Council also will receive a presentation on the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Talent Initiative.
