RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting October 21-22 at the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College’s (JSRCC) Parham Road campus.

An education session will be held October 21 at 2:00 p.m. to review the recently released Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission studies related to higher education.

Council committees -- Academic Affairs; Resources and Planning -- will meet at 3:30 p.m. Topics include action on a proposed program at a public institution and proposed reductions to private and out-of-state regulations. In addition, Council will receive updates on six-year plan themes and the 2024 Pell Initiative for Virginia report, as well as a presentation on the Full Cost report.

The full Council will convene for its regular meeting at 9:00a.m., October 22. Paula Pando, Reynolds Community College president, will present remarks. Council meeting topics include action on budget and policy recommendations for the 2025 legislative session. In addition, Council will discuss SCHEV’s transfer responsibilities and reforms to SCHEV program approval and productivity policies. Council will receive presentations on the Virginia College Advising Corps and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s talent initiative.
