RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regularly scheduled meeting, as well as a joint meeting with the Council of Presidents, September 16 - 17 at Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
Council committees -- Academic Affairs; Resources and Planning -- will meet September 16 at 1 p.m. on the ODU campus. Topics include action on certification of a proposed postsecondary school, a proposed organizational change at a public institution and on institution’s IPS performance. In addition, Council will receive and update on FAFSA enrollments as well as briefings on SCHEV’s research website and review process for six-year plans.
At 3:00 p.m., Council will hold a joint meeting with the Council of Presidents, comprised of presidents from Virginia’s public four-year institutions.
The full Council will convene for its regular meeting September 17 at 9 a.m. Brian Hemphill, president of Old Dominion University, will present remarks. Council meeting topics include action on 2025 meeting schedule and locations. In addition, Council will discuss budget and policy recommendations for the 2025 legislative session and the new K-12 Standards of Accreditation. Also, Council will receive an update on strategic plan priority initiatives.
