The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) was recently notified that the assets from Vigilar’s Intense School have been purchased by InfoSec Institute, an industry resource for IT Security Training. InfoSec Institute, which will operate under the name Intense School, has been assisting students to recover training dollars paid into Vigilar.
Students who paid for Vigilar courses scheduled to run between 1/4/2010 and 7/31/2010 are encouraged to contact an Intense School representative at 708-689-0131 to receive documentation to aid in obtaining free tuition for a replacement course offered by Intense School. If students are able to recover training funds, they may re-apply their payment to InfoSec Institute/Intense School for the course(s) for which they were originally registered.
Virginia residents should note that InfoSec Institute/Intense School is not certified to operate a postsecondary institution within the Commonwealth of Virginia, which prohibits the school from advertising for open enrollment or charging an individual for tuition. However, the school is able to offer courses on a contractual basis with corporations and governmental agencies.
