Director of Higher Education Restructuring

Jim Alessio

Jim Alessio was named SCHEV’s Director of Higher Education Restructuring in October 2006. He previously served as SCHEV’s Senior Associate for Finance Policy and has also worked at the agency as Associate Director for Research, Information Systems and Financial Aid. 

As the Director of Higher Education Restructuring, Mr. Alessio ensures that SCHEV fulfills its duties as outlined in the Restructuring Act, including assisting public institutions with the creation of their six-year plans. Mr. Alessio also is responsible for the certification of institutional performance standards.

Mr. Alessio has previously served as Executive Director for University Enrollment Services at Virginia Commonwealth University.  He is an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University.   

Mr. Alessio has a bachelor of science in mathematics from Loyola University of Chicago and a master of science in business from Virginia Commonwealth University.
