— The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia will hold its regularly scheduled meeting July 18 at John Tyler Community College in Midlothian.
The Council will convene at noon for its regular meeting. John Tyler President Edward “Ted” Raspiller will present remarks. Scheduled topics include a presentation on the role of higher education in economic development from Council member Stephen Moret, president and CEO of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and The Virginia Plan for Higher Education, the state's strategic plan.
The Academic Affairs and Resources and Planning committees will meet beginning at 10 a.m. at the same location. Scheduled topics include updates on a policy on undergraduate-student learning assessment and quality; a status report on institutions in Virginia formerly accredited by ACICS, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools; and a briefing on enrollment projections and degree estimates.
