Stephen D. Haner

Stephen D. Haner is an independent government relations and public affairs consultant based in Richmond. His principal client is Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. Newport News Shipbuilding is the state’s second largest private employer, with more than 21,000 employees designing, building and maintaining nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines for the United States Navy. Steve has represented the shipyard in Richmond since 2006, and previously was Vice President for Public Policy at the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Director of Administration for the Office of Attorney General. He resides in Richmond.

Steve and his wife Pam are both graduates of the College of William and Mary and Pam also has a master’s degree from Radford University. Their son has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and their daughter has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University-MCV.
