Agenda Books and Minutes
Draft minutes of the Council's meetings will be posted within 10 working days after the meeting. Within three working days after the Council formally approves the minutes, the draft minutes will be replaced with the final approved minutes. The Academic Affairs Committee is charged with overseeing the work of SCHEV staff on all matters of academic concern. Its activities include the statutorily authorized approval of new academic programs and instructional sites at public higher education institutions; the certification of new and out-of-state postsecondary institutions; and the implementation of state policies on a broad range of topics such as assessment, transfer, reinstatement of students called for military duty, and strategic planning. The Committee also receives updates and reports on special initiatives and grant-funded programs (GEAR UP, NCLB, College Access Challenge Grant) administered by SCHEV staff.

Public Comment
- A public comment period will be allocated on the meeting agenda (typically at the beginning of the meeting). To be scheduled, those interested in making public comment should contact Lee Ann Rung at (804) 225-2602 no later than 5:00 p.m. three (3) business days prior to the meeting date.
- At the time of the request, the speaker's name, address and topic must be provided.
- Each speaker will be given up to three (3) minutes to address SCHEV.
- Speakers are asked to submit a written copy of their remarks at the time of comment.
Meeting times are approximate and subject to change.
