It is important to know what will be expected of you when you get to high school, especially if you plan to go to college. Be sure to keep the following information in mind:
- Please visit the Virginia (DOE) Department of Education's web site for specific information about high school graduation requirements.
- A verified unit of credit is awarded when, in addition to successfully completing a 140-hour course, the student passes a SOL test for certain courses in high school.
- For the Standard diploma, a student must earn twenty-two units of credit, as well as six verified credits. For the Advanced Studies diploma, a student must earn twenty-four units of credit with nine verified credits.
