Council To Discuss Enrollment Projections and
Budget Recommendations at October 30 Meeting
RICHMOND —The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its regular business meeting on Tuesday, October 30 from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm in SCHEV’s main conference room on the ninth floor of the James Monroe Building at 101 North 14th Street in Richmond, Virginia. Following remarks from Martin Briley, President and CEO of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Council members will discuss the enrollment projection process for 2014-2020.
Additionally, the Council will take action on agenda items considered during the Budget Recommendations Task Force meeting, which will be held on Monday, October 29 at 1:30 pm in the SCHEV conference room. Topics include the 2012-14 systemwide operating and maintenance reserve budget amendments, institutional performance measures, and Higher Education Advisory Committee recommendations.
Council members will also take action on agenda items from the Academic Affairs Committee meeting, which will be held on October 29 at 3:00 pm, including certifying two postsecondary institutions, Assured Training and Morrison Dental Assistant School, to operate in Virginia.
SCHEV is the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for Virginia’s system of higher education. The agency provides policy guidance and budget recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly, and is a resource for information on higher education issues.
