SCHEV and Private College Presidents Hold Annual Joint Meeting
RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold its annual joint meeting with the Private College Advisory Board (PCAB) on Monday, May 20 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Marymount University’s Gerard Phelan Hall, 2807 North Glebe Road in Arlington, Virginia. Council members and presidents of Virginia’s private not-for-profit colleges and universities will discuss Tuition Assistance Grants (TAG) and the creation and implementation of a statewide strategic plan.
The Council will hold its regular business meeting on Tuesday, May 21, from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm in the same location. Following remarks from Marymount University President, Matthew Shank, Council will receive an update on the biennial projections of enrollment and estimates of degrees.
Council members also will review agenda items considered by the Academic Affairs Committee, which will meet Monday, May 20, at 1:30 pm in Gerald Phelan Hall. Among those items, committee members will hear requests from Longwood University for a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Environmental Science and from Virginia Tech for a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate.
SCHEV is the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for Virginia’s system of higher education. The agency provides policy guidance and budget recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly, and is a resource for information on higher education issues.
