SCHEV Announces Agenda for September 30 Meeting
—Council Will Take Action on the Standards for Institutional Certification —

RICHMOND —The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold a special meeting on Friday, September 30, 2005 at noon. The meeting will take place in the Council’s Ninth Floor Main Conference Room of the James Monroe Building in Richmond, Virginia.

During the meeting, the Council will take action on the Standards for Institutional Certification, the mechanism created to measure the public higher education institutions’ response to the goals outlined in the Restructuring Act. The Council will also take action on the emergency regulations pertaining to the certification of private and out-of-state postsecondary schools.

SCHEV is the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for Virginia’s system of higher education. The agency provides policy guidance and budget recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly, and is a resource for information on Virginia colleges and universities on higher education issues.
