SCHEV Announces Agenda for March 12 Meeting

RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold a regular business meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. The meeting will take place on the second floor of the Center for Student Affairs at Richard Bland College in Petersburg, Virginia.

SCHEV committees will meet prior to the regular business meeting. Both the Academic Affairs Committee and the Resources Committee will hold a meeting at 9:00 a.m. on the second floor of the Center for Student Affairs at Richard Bland College. The Academic Affairs Committee will take action on four proposals for new academic degree programs at three public four-year institutions.

The Committee of the Whole will meet at 10:00 a.m. on the second floor of the Center for Student Affairs at Richard Bland College. Among other agenda items, the committee will receive an update on the General Assembly budget and base adequacy funding guidelines.

The Outreach Committee will meet at 11:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Center for Student Affairs at Richard Bland College to discuss the February 8, 2007 Outstanding Faculty Awards ceremony.

During the regular business meeting, the Council will hear from President McNeer, receive an update on 2007 legislation, and take action on a resolution acknowledge Dominion’s support for the Outstanding Faculty Awards program.
