SCHEV Announces Agenda for July 10 Meeting
RICHMOND — The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will hold a regular business meeting on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the sixth-floor conference room of the McDemmond Center at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.
During the regular business meeting, Council members will hear remarks from Norfolk State President Carolyn Meyers . As part of its agenda, the Council will take action on enrollment projections and faculty salary peer groups.
SCHEV committees will meet prior to the regular business meeting. The Academic Affairs Committee will hold a meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the conference room on the sixth floor of the McDemmond Center . The Committee will hear an update on the progress of the Assessment Task Force and will take action on Central Virginia Community College’s proposal to initiate an Associate of Science degree program in engineering.
The Resources Committee will hold a meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Virtualization and Collaboration Center on the fourth floor of the McDemmond Center. The Committee will take action on the 2007-08 Full Cost Report and discuss budget and legislative initiatives for 2008-10. The Resources Committee will also consider a preliminary report on base adequacy funding guideline methodologies and processes.
The Committee of the Whole will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the sixth-floor conference room of the McDemmond Center , where members will be briefed on nursing and allied health topics.
SCHEV is the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for Virginia’s system of higher education. The agency provides policy guidance and budget recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly, and is a resource for information on Virginia colleges and universities on higher education issues.
