Private Colleges Regulated by SCHEV
Invited to Best Practices Summit
RICHMOND — In its role as regulator of a number of Virginia’s private postsecondary institutions, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) will host a conference for colleges and universities in the regulated sector on Thursday, March 29 in Richmond. The day-long summit will help personnel at private institutions learn best practices in compliance and models for helping students succeed.
WHO:
SCHEV’s Private and Out-of-State Postsecondary Education (POPE) section will host several speakers covering topics of interest for educators and administrators at private SCHEV-regulated institutions, including:
- Deborah Brent and Ron Charpia of ITT Technical Institute on "Admissions Best Practices that Support Compliance in the Career College Sector;"
- Jay Hollowell of MaxKnowledge on "Creating a Culture of Compliance;"
- John Lee of JBL Associates, Inc. on "How to Graduate High-Risk Students;" and
- Linda Woodley of SCHEV on "SCHEV Recertification."

WHAT:
SCHEV hopes to help educators and administrators at regulated Virginia institutions better serve Commonwealth students by providing professional development and networking opportunities. Summit attendees will learn how to create a culture of compliance with state regulations, as well as best practices to ensure students receive the quality education they have come to expect from Commonwealth institutions.
