Virginia Assessment Group (VAG)
The Virginia Assessment Group (VAG) promotes quality higher education through assessment of student learning and practices of institutional effectiveness in postsecondary institutions. VAG serves as a network for communication and collaboration among institutions of higher education, state and federal agencies, and accreditation bodies. VAG offers professional development opportunities and serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas.

Virginia Public Higher Education Policy on the Assessment of Student Learning
Assessment has been a focus of the State Council since 1986, when SCHEV first began drafting guidelines for the assessment of student achievement. In recent years, the Council has sought to provide concrete, non-anecdotal evidence of student learning. In 2010, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia approved a new policy on the assessment of student learning by public higher education institutions.
