Learning Technology Advisory Committee(LTAC)
The Learning Technology Advisory Committee (LTAC) assists the Council with technology-enriched learning initiatives. The advisory committee may assist the Council in:
- developing innovative, cost-effective, technology-enriched teaching & learning initiatives, including distance & distributed learning initiatives;
- improving cooperation among & between the public & private institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth;
- improving efficiency & expanding the availability of technology-enriched courses; and
- facilitating the sharing of research & experience to improve student learning.
The overall purpose of LTAC importantly includes deliberating and advising on priorities among elements 1 through 4 above. The Committee should consider which areas to focus on initially, identifying activities, policies, and discussions and the resources that may be needed to implement them. Given that funding has not yet been appropriated to support LTAC, the Committee should also initially take up the question of whether and how to raise funds through grants in order to begin building a record of success that can be used to advocate for dedicated state funding.
